The Fae Ring

1 min read

I gazed with longing at the ring,

I knew if I stepped inside my heart would sing.

Don't look that way, grandmother warned.

Tread lightly and not inside,

you'll catch the fire of the faery wrath;

it is theirs and not your path.

I turned my eyes and looked away, wishing that I could stay.

I knew if I could just step inside,

the language would be a familiar sound,

in that ring that formed so round.
